Chicago Bears: 4 most intriguing storylines of Eagles game
Battle between friends
When Matt Nagy peers across the sideline at the opposing team, he will see a very familiar face. That’s because he and Eagles coach Doug Pederson have been side-by-side for six years in both Philadelphia for four years, before moving on to Kansas City with Andy Reid.

In the video segment embedded in the link above, Nagy brings up an interesting tidbit, and that is how at each stop, he seemed to be “chasing” Pederson. Each time Pederson was promoted, Nagy was promoted right behind him to fill the vacancy left by Pederson. As Nagy states, a little cheekily, he joked about following Pederson’s Super Bowl run with one of his own this season.
Nothing would delight Bears fans more, but to do that, he is going to have to get by his friend, with whom he undoubtedly spent countless hours pouring over game film and discussing strategy.
What, if anything, each gained from those experiences and will learn against the other remains to be seen. But one thing is certain — there are very few secrets between the two. If you are a fan of chess, you’ll love Sunday’s game, as each coach will try to outsmart/outguess his opponent.
After their game, there will certainly be a warm embrace at midfield, but hopefully, for Bears fans, it’ll be just a tad bit chillier for Pederson.
