No. 2: Anthony Miller’s touchdown grab

Anthony Miller has been easily the most overlooked member of the Bears offense through the first seven games.

The 2018 second-rounder has been the definition of productive. While he hasn’t racked up eye-opening yardage, the timelines of his grabs have been huge for the Bears throughout the season. That certainly didn’t change on Sunday.

Miller picked up his second touchdown in the last three games. This one was especially clutch, as Miller made a tough grab in a small window, in a huge situation on third-and-goal. The touchdown extended the Bears lead to a two-score lead, essentially putting the game safely in the Bears hands at the time.

Speaking of hands, Miller flaunted those on a couple of occasions. The rookie made just three grabs, but totaled 37 yards, averaging over 12 yards per catch.

In the absence of Allen Robinson, Miller was just one of a few Bears who stepped up big. As the season progresses, Miller’s experience will too, and therefore the Bears will only continue to expand his use in the offense.

The emergence of Miller has given the Bears an element that they haven’t had in quite a while: a solid third wide receiver. The Bears dependence on Miller in short-yardage situations has been big in taking the pressure off of tight ends, as well as Trubisky. Miller won’t be the Bears third option forever, which only expands his already-high ceiling.

Miller’s future is certainly bright, and it only shined brighter on Sunday.
