The Chicago Bears offense finally picked up their defense, using a dominant run game to upset the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Tell me that you expected the Chicago Bears offense to win this game the way they did, and I don’t think I’d believe you. Especially with the struggles the offense has endured the last few weeks, how could they really be effective against a team like the Pittsburgh Steelers?

How could we expect 216 yards from running backs, including a determined 138 yards from Jordan Howard?

How could we really think Kyle Long could come back and not only play effectively but dominate so quickly after recovering from a brutal ankle injury?

And how could anyone think the Chicago Bears could get 101 passing yards and another pick from Mike Glennon and win?

Yet, here we are. And even for one game, it’s hard not to admire them a little bit.

The Bears finally won a game in September under John Fox, pulling out one of those beloved grind-em-out games against Pittsburgh 23-17. In the process, they established a pattern that they can replicate for when their young quarterback is ready to play: running the football and safe throws.

Yeah…that’s still going to happen. Don’t think that Glennon cemented anything with this ridiculousness.

But that’s something to be addressed about a week from now, I’d say. For now, let’s get into yesterday’s game.
