6. Blake Rutherford, OF

Blake Rutherford was drafted by the Yankees with the 18th overall pick in the 2016 MLB draft. A recent trade would send Rutherford over to the south side.

Rutherford is a raw talent who has an excellent eye at the plate. He is also known to have a smooth swing, plenty of bat speed and recognizes pitches well. Rutherford has the potential to hit for both average and power which, would be a huge asset for the Chicago White Sox moving forward. If you can find a power hitter who can also hit for average, you are doing something right.

Through 71 games with the Yankees Single-A affiliate, Rutherford had a .281 average with 77 hits and two home runs. Although the power numbers are lower right now, that should come with time. The good sign is that he recorded 20 doubles. He does not have elite home run power right now, but hitting the ball hard in the gap is a great sign.

Rutherford is going to be given all the time he needs as the White Sox are in the middle of a rebuild and the last thing they need to do is rush players up to the majors. I fully expect Rutherford to be a focal point of the White Sox outfield in the future. Who will he play alongside? Keep reading to find out.
