Jaquiski Tartt (6-foot-1, 220 pounds), Samford

Jaquiski Tartt has an NFL-ready body, and he makes full use of it. He has long arms that he uses to wrap up ball carriers, and broad shoulders he uses to level them.

Speaking of leveling, Tartt loves explosive collisions. He is an aggressive defender, attacking the line of scrimmage on run support and is an intimidating hitter in the middle on crossing routes.

Tartt has good body control, which helps him adjust in space to tip passes. He also has good hand-eye coordination.

Tartt has a tendency to run too high when backpedaling, which causes him to lose a step when he needs to transition. He doesn’t possess the ideal straight-line speed for single-high coverage duty. May need some time to acclimate himself to the speed of the NFL.

Tartt will be a very good run defender at the higher level. He will make some violent hits that fans will love. He may be a good pick in the third or fourth round.
