The MVP of the second quarter is the youngest MVP in league history … and that’s a really good sign for the Bulls.

Derrick Rose enjoyed a really solid second quarter of the season, despite missing three of the 21 games due to an illness and some minor knee sore that was taken as a precaution.

In the 18 games Rose played during the second quarter, the 2011 league MVP scored 19 points per game and dished out over five assists per contest (5.4).

Sure, the shooting percentages don’t look stellar — 40.1% from the field and 29.9% from long range — but Rose has looked like his pre-injury self with his ability to attack the basket and create for himself and his teammates.

In the final two games of the quarter, Rose dropped 10 assists in both games vs. Boston and Atlanta, and score 29 and 23 points respectively. He also shot 9-for-18 from three-point land in those two games.

D-Rose back? Let’s hope so.
