The NBA Preseason kicks off in just over two months. There is reason to believe the Chicago Bulls could see a breakout season from Zach LaVine.

The biggest decision of the Chicago Bulls‘ offseason in 2018 was to retain the centerpiece of last year’s trade which sent Jimmy Butler to the Twin Cities. Zach LaVine had received interest from other teams, but the Bulls ultimately matched an offer sheet made by the Sacramento Kings about a week into this year’s free agency period.

More from Da Windy City

LaVine returns to a roster that looks a bit different than last year, and hopefully he will get the opportunity to be what many have thought he could be for a couple of years: A star.

After returning from tearing his ACL as a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves, LaVine came back and showed some sparks in about a quarter of a season for the Bulls. Chicago knew they weren’t going to see LaVine at his best for a while after his return, but the time is just about right for the former UCLA Bruin to unleash his completely healthy self on the NBA.

LaVine has had the chance to put in a full offseason of work, unlike last year when he was still recovering from injury. Many fans, like myself, will offer no excuses for LaVine this season. The stage is set for him to have his best season yet. Next to Lauri Markkanen, LaVine will be “the man.”

So, what can we expect from him this year? How high should the expectations be? My answer: Why not aim aggressively? Here are five bold predictions for LaVine for the upcoming season.
