The Chicago White Sox should be shopping outfielder Avisail Garcia after his hot start to the season.

It is not a secret that the Chicago White Sox are one of the worst teams in baseball right now, which is perfectly fine as they are in the midst of a rebuild.

With that being said there is still some bright spots on the South Side this season. Avisail Garcia, who many White Sox fans, including myself, had all but given up on, is having the best season of his career. Currently batting .332 with 10 home runs and 48 RBI and an OPS of .912. It’s safe to say that there should be a lot of interest for the young slugger.

Garcia is only 26-years-old and looks to be coming into his prime. However, the White Sox should absolutely do everything in their power to ship him out-of-town for some young talent.

Garcia could make an immediate impact on a playoff contender, the trade deadline will be here before we know it and what team wouldn’t want to add a bat to their lineup?

Reports have surfaced naming the St. Louis Cardinals as a team that hasn’t shown interest in Garcia. The Cardinals are in desperate need of a bat in their lineup and Garcia could fill that void.

Obviously, rumors spread like wildfire around professional sports so you never know what really is going on. But the White Sox have no reason to hold on to Garcia especially if they want this rebuild to continue. Rick Hahn should be really busy in the next month or so and I expect Avisail Garcia to be the main selling point as he discusses trades with other teams.

Yes, Jose Quintana is still on the team and I also expect teams to call about him, but for right now Garcia is playing lights out. This is an opportunity to sell high, and if I’m Rick Hahn, I push Garcia down every team’s throat.
