Just when you thought the circus atmosphere around the Chicago Bulls started to die down, another story comes out. Word is that some players feel assistant coach Randy Brown is a snitch.

Over the past week, the atmosphere around the Chicago Bulls felt more like a circus instead of a professional team. Lately, however, it seemed like the circus was leaving town. The team played well the last few games. After losing to the Miami Heat on January 27th, the Bulls won two of their last three games. Yes, one of those wins was against the Philadelphia 76ers. However, they also blew out the Oklahoma City Thunder and lost a tough, four-point overtime decision to the Houston Rockets.

It appears that circus hasn’t quite left just yet.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported that Jimmy Butler, who joined Dwyane Wade last week to blast their younger teammates, is now helping them by telling them to be careful around assistant coach Randy Brown. Butler feels that Brown is snitching to the front office.

Joe Cowley wrote an article about Butler’s distrust of the Chicago Bulls’ front office. Part of it revolved around someone telling him that the Bulls put in Tony Snell for Butler so they could try to lower Butler’s value. This also came out:

More from Da Windy City

"Butler and other Bulls have had issues with the “spying’’ that goes on in the locker room. He warned new players that if they didn’t want Forman to hear criticism, they shouldn’t talk in front of certain assistant coaches such as Randy Brown. The belief is that the Bulls love to gather as much ammunition as they can on players, so they can win the news conference when the breakup comes, whether it’s a trade or free agency.“They did it with Luol Deng, and they did it with Joakim Noah and Derrick Rose’’ a source said. “That’s how they operate.’’"

Yahoo Sports also insinuated that the owner Jerry Reinsforf released when Tom Thibodeau got fired hinted about snitching. They argued that management suggested that they wanted some more information from Thibs than they received.

Little by little, the dysfunction in the Chicago Bulls locker room is coming out. This looks like a team whose playoff hopes are low on a list of priorities. Changes need to happen, but I’m afraid that with this latest leak, Brown could be the scapegoat, and those truly responsible for this mess, particularly John Paxson and Gar Forman, will skate by once again.
