We are less than a week away from free agency. The pool of available players is clear now. There are some players the Chicago Bears should target who could mesh with the current players on the roster and the new draft picks who will be added.

The new season begins at 4 PM ET on March 9. That is less than a week away. The teams have all made their franchise tags, so the pool of available free agents is clearer.

The Chicago Bears, coming off five and six win-seasons over the past years, are trying to rebuild their roster and become a serious contender.

The Bears will have close to $50 million available to spend, but they will need to be wise in how they spend it. They need to have the right players who can mesh with the current players on the roster and the draft picks who will be added in April.

There were some surprises at some of the players who were allowed to hit free agency. The decision to go after available players will be an important, tough decision.

This is general manager Ryan Pace’s second free agency, and this a huge moment in his time in Chicago. If he makes the right choices, the Chicago Bears are contenders again, and their fans are happy. If he misses on his choices, it could set back the franchise even more, and that would put him on the chopping block.

There are already some who do not think he will get things done. The folks at Walterfootball.com are already projecting the Chicago Bears with the top pick of the 2017 NFL Draft.
