The Chicago Bears host the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night at Soldier Field as part of ESPN’s Monday Night Football presentation on Thursday night.
Both the Bears and Jaguars are entering tonight’s game after earning a victory in the first week of the Pre-Season. The Bears defeated the Philadelphia Eagles last week while the Jaguars defeated Lovie Smith and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Jared Allen is making his debut for the Bears tonight. Allen was inactive last Friday after the birth of his second daughter and the defensive end returned to practice this week. Allen, along with Lamarr Houston, are two of the main reasons why the Bears’ pass-rush should be improved from last season.
All eyes for the Jaguars are on rookie quarterback Blake Bortles. Bortles is expected to play the entire second half for the Jaguars on Thursday night. Bortles, who impressed in the his Pre-Season debut last week, is not expected to be the Jaguars’ starting quarterback this season. The Jaguars are intending for Bortles to learn from veteran quarterback Chad Henne this season.
Throughout tonight’s game, Da Windy City staff members will be discussing the action in the comments section below.
Join the discussion as we hope for another Bears’ victory.
