The Chicago Bears open up the Pre-Season against the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday night at Soldier Field.
The Bears are entering their second year under head coach Marc Trestman and facing high expectations after going 8-8 in 2013. Despite their.500 record, the Bears were one game away from making the playoffs. The Bears could have secured the NFC North title with a victory over the Green Bay Packers in Week 17. The Bears lost that game to the Packers and that ignited an off-season of change for the team.
Friday will be the first test for the Bears’ new defensive line as they face the high-octane offense of the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles are reigning NFC East champions and looking to solidify their position as a NFC contender in their second season under Chip Kelly.
Interesting enough, it was the Eagles that placed the Bears in the win-or-go home game against the Packers in Week 17. The Eagles dismantled the Bears in Week 16 and that created the opening that the Packers needed to be inserted back into the NFC North division race.
The Bears, albeit it’s Pre-Season, will be looking to get some revenge against the Eagles on Friday night.
