Chicago Bears head coach Marc Trestman ended practice early on Monday afternoon after a scuffled ensued between tight end Martellus Bennett and cornerback Kyle Fuller.
On the play, Bennett made a catch near the end-zone and was then consequently knocked down to the ground by Fuller. Bennett retaliated by shoving Fuller down to the ground. Fuller operating under the mindset that Bears’ coaches want from their cornerbacks and that is the desire to go for the ball.
The scuffle between Bennett and Fuller is not the first incident that the Bears have had at training camp.
The Bears defense has come to play during training camp and that could be what has led to handful of scuffles that the Bears have endured during practices.
When speaking with reporters after practice on Monday, Trestman did not appear to be too concerned with the incident between Fuller and Bennett. Trestman indicated that there likely will be no repercussions for either player.
