NBA Free Agency News: Chicago Bulls Finalizing Deal With Aaron Brooks

The Chicago Bulls are finalizing a contract agreement with free agent point guard Aaron Brooks.

In a move reported by ESPN, Brooks will join the Bulls and operate in the same capacity that D.J. Augustin did with the team last season.

With Auugustin signing with the Detroit Pistons this summer, the Bulls were in need of scoring help off the bench. The Bulls have certainly added scoring help this summer.

Brooks joins scorers Nikola Mirotic, Pau Gasol, and Doug McDermott that were all acquired by the Bulls this summer. Gasol will be the Bulls’ starting power forward while Brooks, Mirotic, and McDermott will all come off the bench for the Bulls.

Brooks started the 2013-2014 NBA season playing with the Houston Rockets before being traded to the Denver Nuggets.

Brooks played in 72 games last season and averaged 9 points per game while shooting 40% from the field and 38.7% from three-point range. Brooks also had a 12.51 player efficiency rating last season while playing with the Rockets and Nuggets.

Brooks is entering his sixth year in the NBA this fall.
