By all accounts, the Chicago Bulls presentation to Carmelo Anthony on Tuesday could not have gone any better.
That could not be said for the Houston Rockets’ presentation on Wednesday afternoon. As one part of the Rockets’ presentation on Wednesday became the punchline of the day.
The Rockets channeled the Bulls on Wednesday by depicting Anthony in a Rockets’ uniform. In the illustration, Anthony was wearing a No.7 Rockets’ uniform. The only problem with that is that the Rockets already have a player on their roster with the No.7. That player is Jeremy Lin.
Lin, who had a rocky relationship with Anthony while the pair were teammates on the New York Knicks, was offended by the gesture.
Anthony wrapped up his meeting with the Rockets on Wednesday afternoon and is meeting with the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night.
From Dallas, Anthony will be meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday before ending his free agent tour with a visit with the Knicks.
The Bulls are still believed to be the slight favorite for Anthony. Though, the true indicator will come after Anthony has met with the Knicks and is ready to make his decision.
The Bulls could know by this weekend whether or not their courting of Anthony on Tuesday was successful.
