On the first day of free agency, the Chicago Bulls began setting up some backup options in the event that the team misses out on Carmelo Anthony. Anthony, who will be visiting with the Bulls on Tuesday.
Gasol is looking to sign with a contending team this summer and the Bulls could have an interest if they miss out on Anthony.
With the Los Angeles Lakers last season, Gasol averaged 17.4 point per game to go along with 9.7 rebounds per game.
The Bulls’ interest in Gasol dates back to when the forward was originally a member of the Memphis Grizzlies. Though, at this point, the addition of Gasol this summer would be a disappointment for the Bulls.
Gasol is not the same player that he was with the Grizzlies. In fact, while with the Lakers, Gasol was exposed for being soft when it comes to finishing in the low-post.
Sounds a lot like Carlos Boozer.
Boozer being the consolation prize that the Bulls won in 2010.
Gasol is no different this summer. Gasol would be an underwhelming addition this summer for the Bulls after rumors have linked the team to Anthony.
