According to reports, Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio plans on calling Kevin Love and asking him to stay with the T’Wolves. This call could put a stop to the Chicago Bulls‘ plans of trading for the star power forward, in hopes of making a new “Big Three” in Chicago, putting Love with Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah.
As reported by other sites, the Bulls planned on making a huge offer for the former UCLA Bruins star.
The Bulls’ offer had been rumored to have been the highest yet for Love, with rumors linking the Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings to him as well. The Bulls have multiple first round picks and plenty of talent to offer for the star, who was a teammate of Rose at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, which the United States won the gold medal for.
It will be interesting to see what Rubio says to Love, and whether or not Love does want to leave Minnesota. If he does plan on leaving, it would be smart to place bets on Chicago as his destination, as the Bulls are pulling out all the stops on Love, in hopes that he can bring an elusive title to not only Chicago, but Rose and Noah as well.
