Charles Barkley Rips The Chicago Bulls' Organization For Treatment Of Tom Thibodeau

Charles Barkley is perhaps the greatest analysis of all things NBA. The reason why Barkley stands out on the top is because he is not afraid to call out bullshit when he sees it.

That is why Barkley held no punches when speaking about the Bulls’ and growing interest in their head coach Tom Thibodeau.

“Every year the idiots in Chicago, either they don’t want to pay Thibs or his name comes up for other jobs. I wish the Bulls were smart enough to say ‘We’ve got one of the best coaches in the NBA and he’s not going anywhere,’ ” Barkley said Wednesday on the “Waddle & Silvy Show” on ESPN Chicago 1000. “I don’t understand why they don’t appreciate Thibs there.”-Charles Barkley, ESPN Chicago

While Thibodeau is widely appreciated by every Bulls fan that is able to breathe, there is some question over how much Thibodeau is valued by the Bulls’ organization.

After calling the Bulls “the stupidest organization in the NBA”, Barkley continued his argument by pointing out that the San Antonio Spurs would never let rumors linger when it came to head coach Gregg Popovich.

“No guys does more with less than Coach Thibodeau,” Barkley said. “… He gets more out of their team than any coach could. Now, if he’s not happy and someone wants to give a bunch of draft picks for him that’s a totally different animal. But it’s disappointing to me that every single year there’s chatter about Thibs. You think people would let somebody say something about Gregg Popovich? ‘He’s our coach. He’s not going anywhere.’ The Spurs would release a statement ASAP.” -Barkley, ESPN Chicago

This off-season alone, Thibodeau has been linked to the openings with the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, and Memphis Grizzlies. The Grizzlies and Lakers are believed to be planning to ask the Bulls’ front office for permission to interview Thibodeau.

As Barkley alluded to, all the Bulls’ front office has to do is release a statement saying that the team has no intention of letting Thibodeau interview for any vacant head coach positions in the NBA.

Some contest that would set a bad precedent with other employees, but that is not true. Unless the move would be giving Thibodeau a label such as president of basketball operations, the Bulls’ would not be preventing a promotion for Thibodeau. Therefore, there would be no bad precedent set.

But since the Bulls’ refuse to comment on Thibodeau rumors, that is the reason why this circus continues.

The circus continues even though Thibodeau has no interest in leaving Chicago. Thibodeau not only has begun making personnel decisions for next season with the Bulls, but the head coach is actively involved in the team’s pursuit of Carmelo Anthony. That does not sound like a head coach that is looking for his next opportunity.

The Bulls’ treatment of Barkely is bullshit. Credit Barkley for calling the team out on it.

As a Bulls I dont give a rats azz what Barkley has to say. I guess he would reply to every rumor that comes up about the Bulls. I dont see why the Bulls should respond to any rumor of teams wanting to talk until said teams call the Bulls. Barkley is full of himself I recall a statement he in the 93 finals after the Suns beat the Bulls in game 5 he said boldly and on camera said that he talked to God and God told him that they were going to win now you have to decide who is lying God or Barkley.

Give a loser a platform and will harp on everything but his own weakness. Is Barkley mad about the Bulls kicking his ass in 93 or is he thinking he has some say so in what the Bulls should respond to?

Why dont someone ask him about that God statement? Furthermore on that set Barkley is the only one who does not have a ring hell Earnie has as many rings as Barkley.

Like him or not, he makes a valid point though.

Valid point I dont think so. Why should the Bulls have to respond to rumors? Its a rumor why is that important to respond? When a team finally has the courage to call then the Bulls will respond.

Take you for instance I am sure you have had rumors out there about you do you seek to respond to every rumor about you or do you just say F it and roll on?

Rumors are like booty holes and everyone has one and can make one we know what comes out of the booty.

I cannot say a whole lot about this, Charles Barkley works for TNT, he has major insiders, sources and will be owning a team soon. He has an NBA resume a mile long. He just speaks his mind. I cannot say I do not agree with him. No one knows the front office personally and what happens on and off the court inside the Bulls organization. But if anyone has any credentials to give an opinion I would say Charles has the right, its his job and again, he did interview Obama. He is not exactly an idiot. My opinion
