For the Chicago Bulls, the team can never go through an off-season without their head coach being linked to vacancies across the NBA.
Bulls’ head coach Tom Thibodeau has already been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, and New York Knicks this off-season. The time has come to add another team to that list.
According to a tweet from Bill Simmons of ESPN, the Memphis Grizzlies are believed to be interested in trading for Bulls’ head coach Tom Thibodeau.
Hearing that, if the Grizz totally clean house, the Memphis owner will look to trade for Tom Thibodeau + give him an SVG/Pistons-type deal.

While Thibodeau has been adamant in his unwillingness to leave the Bulls, the Grizzlies would offer the Bulls’ head coach a sense of power and control that he does not have in Chicago.
It is no secret that Thibodeau and the Bulls’ front office may not be on the best of terms. Thibodeau has had multiple spats with Bulls’ general manager Gar Forman over the direction of the Bulls. The growing tensions between Thibodeau and Forman has led to speculation that Thibodeau may not have much of a long-term future with the Bulls.
Thibodeau would certainly be intrigued by the Grizzlies’ offer. The Grizzlies’ offer would not only make Thibodeau the head coach, but also the president of basketball operations. Thibodeau has long sought that sense of control with the Bulls.
The Bulls have yet to publicly comment on the elephant in the room that is Thibodeau’s growing appeal to NBA teams.
