Chicago Bears, Brandon Marshall Agree To Contract Extension

Several months after signing quarterback Jay Cutler to a 7-year contract, the Chicago Bears locked up Cutler’s favorite wide receiver for the long-term future.

Brandon Marshall announced on “The View” Monday morning that he has signed a 3-year, $30 million contract extension with the Bears. Marshall, has a year left on his original contract, meaning he will be contractually tied to the Bears for the next four years.

With the Bears’ last season, Marshall hailed in 100 receptions for a total of 1,295 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. Marshall along with Alshon Jeffery have turned into one of the top receiving tandems in the NFL while playing with the Bears.

The Bears acquired Marshall prior to the 2012 season. In Marshall’s first two seasons with the Bears, the veteran wide receiver has over 100 receptions in each season while totaling 2,803 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns.

Prior to his work on the field, Marshall has also become a leader for the Bears off the field. Marshall, along with Cutler, will be leaders for the Bears’ offense for many years to come.
