In the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears selected Virginia Tech cornerback Kyle Fuller. In the second round of the draft, the Bears have the rights to the 51st overall selection.
Round 2 of the NFL draft starts at 6:00 p.m. on Friday night.
In the second round, the Bears draft selection will be announced by legendary linebacker Mike Singletary.
The Bears are expected to address the defensive line with their second round selection.
While the Bears remain in need of a safety, the positional outlook for safety in the second round looks bleak. Four safeties were taken in the first round and the Bears likely do not have a second round value on the safeties that remain on the draft board.
As for defensive linemen, Stephon Tuitt and Louis Nix of Notre Dame, Timmy Jernigan of Florida State, and Princeton’s Caraun Reid remain on the draft board. The Bears have been connected to all four of the aforementioned defensive linemen and Jernigan could be a steal in the second round.
Following the selection of Fuller in the first round, the Bears likely will continue to address the defense with their second round selection.
