Chicago sports superfan CM Punk was an honorary guest of the Chicago Blackhawks. Punk, who is on an extended hiatus from World Wrestling Entertainment, participated in the Shoot The Puck contest on Sunday at the Blackhawks game.
As noted before on Da Windy City, Punk has been absent from WWE programming since January. There has been rumors about Punk making his return to the company, though, those rumors never came to fruition.
In the video, Punk admitted that he would be traveling with the Blackhawks to Minnesota. That, at least, would appear to be a short-term indicator that Punk does not have any plans to return to WWE anytime soon.
Punk has an incredible Chicago following and that following was strong on Sunday at the United Center. While Punk was on the ice, grown men were fawning over his presence. Punk was introduced as “WWE Superstar” on Sunday while also coming out to his WWE theme song “Cult of Personality.”
