On Wednesday, the NFL released the pre-season schedule. For NFL fans desperately waiting for the start of the 2014 regular season, the release of the pre-season schedule is a sign that football is not too far away.
Lets take a look at the four teams the Bears will be play in August.
Phildelphia Eagles (Weekend of August 7-10)
- There is no type of feeling like the first pre-season game. While the first pre-season games holds little significance, it is the first football games that fans have watched since the Super Bowl. The Eagles are certainly an interesting matchup considering they blew out the Bears in a late December game last season. This will also be the first game the Eagles will be playing without Pro-Bowl wide receiver DeSean Jackson.
Jackson Jaguars (August 14)
- This game will be televised nationally on ESPN. The Jaguars could draft one of the top quarterback prospects so this could be another interesting matchup for the Bears. Bears defensive coordinator Mel Tucker held the same position with the Jaguars before being hired by the Bears in 2013.
@ Seattle Seahawks ( August 21-24)
- This is the game that all Bears should circle. The third pre-season game is the dress rehearsal for the regular season and there is no greater test than the Seahawks. Richard Sherman of the Seahawks recently called Bears quarterback Jay Cutler the biggest trash talker of any quarterback in the league.
@ Cleveland Browns (August 28 or 29)
- The traditional pre-season finale for the Bears. The only thing to hope for by this point is no injuries.
With the release of the pre-season schedule, there is an outside possibility that the regular season schedule could be released this month as well.
