Bears Free Agent News: Houston Signs With Bears

The Chicago Bears got their defensive end. The NFL Network reported that the Bears signed Lamarr Houston to a 5-year, $35 million deal.

The Bears have been looking to fortify their pass rushing for next season and they got a young, athletic end. He is 6’3″ and weighs 300 pounds. He had 69 tackles 2 forced fumbles and eight sacks. He has 16 sacks for his career.

The Bears are expected to release Julius Peppers in order to accommodate Houston.

The Bears originally went after Michael Bennett, but he re-signed with the Seattle Seahawks yesterday.

Now that the Bears got an end, the next question will still be on the line. What is the future of Henry Melton? The Bears had a lot of trouble on the line last season so the line is a primary concern for this season.
