Chicago Bears tight end Martellus Bennett has been on the recruitment tour for his brother, Michael, and continued his movement on Monday. The Bears tight end has been on the recruit of his brother since the start of the 2014 calendar year, and with free agency opening on Tuesday, Martellus is not letting up.

The Bennett brothers made an appearance on NFL Network Monday morning and the talking point was the Michael Bennett’s next contract. Michael Bennett was coy about his intentions as he wants to give his signing a movie-like atmosphere.

“You’ve just got to stay tuned, man, like a suspenseful movie,” Michael Bennett said. “I’ve got to leave it suspenseful right now.” -Michael Bennett, ESPN Chicago

The desire for suspense did not stop Martellus Bennett from continuing his efforts to lure his brother to Chicago. Martellus Bennett pulled out the family card in his interview with NFL Network while also pitching various promotional work the siblings could do.

“The No. 1 thing is family. You’re going to get paid wherever you get paid,” Martellus Bennett said. “…So if the contract is not the number that you want, you’ve got to think about the market and off the field.”

“We could do Doublemint commercials. Look at Duck Dynasty. Talk about the black Duck Dynasty right now. Me and you bro,” said Martellus Bennett continuing the pitch to his elder sibling. “There’s just a lot of opportunity. Chicago [has] the best fans, unique city, great opportunities business wise, which I know there are a lot of things you want to do off the field after football. And none of those things are tech or coffee. [In] Seattle, that’s what they’re offering you. So come on down to Chicago, man.” -Martellus Bennett, ESPN Chicago

In his first season with the Bears, Martellus Bennett proved to be a dynamic character both on and off the field. Bennett provided the Bears with a legitimate tight-end while also being a colorful athlete to follow on twitter. Needless to say, the pairing of the two brothers would certainly be gold for the Bears from a promotional front.

The latest word going around the internet is that Michael Bennett is indeed going to sign with the Bears. Michael Bennett would provide the Bears with some much needed help in terms of stopping the run as well as a disruptive force on the defensive line.

Michael Bennett can officially sign with a new team on Tuesday at 3 p.m. CST.
