Blackhawks' Kevin Hayes Lighting Up NCAA

Former 2010 first-round pick Kevin Hayes has been playing at a very high level for quite some time with the Boston College Eagles. Hayes is on a 12-point game streak, accumulating 13 goals and 14 assists during the streak.

Hayes could eventually become a solid player for a team that seems to get plenty of contributions from players that aren’t expected to. Andrew Shaw currently has 14 goals and 11 assists while Brandon Saad, a 21-year old, has 39 points on the season.

The Blackhawks have plenty of bright spots in their organization. Teuvo Teravainen, who was taken in the first round in 2012, has scored 14 points in his last six games, and leads his Finnish team, Jokerit, with 31 points through 35 games. Ryan Hartman was the team’s first round pick in the 2013 draft, but has been struggling in the OHL. Hartman has 29 points through his team’s 33 games, yet has only three assists and a minus-eight rating in the month of January.
