After becoming the first Bears wide receiver to have back-to-back 100 reception seasons, and catching a career-high 12 touchdowns this season, Brandon Marshall says the best is yet to come.
Marshall appeared on the NFL Network’s NFL AM on Tuesday, and made the bold prediction.
“I’m gonna have my best year ever next year. I’m healthy, I have a healthy offseason. I don’t have to get any surgeries. I didn’t even have a chance to prepare last year. I hit my stride, you know, in Week 9, Week 10 in the season. Now I get a whole offseason. I really believe this is gonna be my best year ever.”
Marshall has had three hip procedures in his career, including one after last season. He missed most of the team’s offseason programs.
Next season Marshall and the rest of the offensive guys will attack coach Marc Trestman’s offense with a year under their belt and will build on the progress they made this season.
Marshall said shortly after the season ended that he would take some of his teammates, including Jay Cutler, Matt Forte, Martellus Bennett, and Alshon Jeffery, to his training facility located in Weston, Florida. Bennett and Jeffery trained there last season and they had solid years. Jeffery even made the Pro Bowl.
If Marshall comes through on his prediction, how far will his success take the Bears? The future looks sunny for the Bears.
