Chicago Bulls Start New Year On The Right Foot

After a start to the 2013 basketball season that was less than impressive, the Chicago Bulls started the New Year off with a win at home against the Boston Celtics.  The Bulls downed the Celtics by a score of 94-82.

They only had a 3 point half time lead, but were able to outscore the Celtics in the second half.  With a healthy team now, the Bulls are heading in the right direction.  The only problem is the fact that they have been unable to stay healthy.  Lets just hope the injury bug doesn’t bite again in Chicago.

It really wasn’t a great shooting performance by either team.  The Bulls shot a gloomy 41% from the field.  They also struck just twice from behind the arc.  Lucky for them, their defense was stout, they held the Celtics to 39% shooting and just 17% from behind the arc.

The Bulls were also out-rebounded by 7 for the night.  However, they were +6 in the turnover category.

Joakim Noah just missed out on a triple double.  He had 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists on the night.  Carlos Boozer added 16 points and 7 rebounds for the home town Bulls.

Jordan Crawford stood out for the Celtics.  He had 22 points and 7 assists.

The Bulls are now 13-18 and will take the United Center floor again on Saturday when they will welcome the Atlanta Hawks.  Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. CT.
