Deng and Butler Ruled Out Tonight vs Bucks

Luol Deng will miss his second straight game with that achilles that has been bothering him ever since Nov. 27th against the Detroit Pistons.  His teammate, Jimmy Butler, will also be out due to his turf toe injury.

“It’s better, a lot better; both guys are a lot better. They’re close but not quite there yet … we’ll see where it is [Wednesday].” – Tom Thibodeau, ESPN Chicago

Butler hasn’t played since hurting that toe back on November 18th and clearly he is bothered by having to sit out.

“I hate sitting out. I hate missing games. I always want to play.” – Jimmy Butler, ESPN Chicago

Its a pretty tough stretch for the Bulls coming up as far as games are concerned.  They’ll have the game tonight against Milwaukee and then they’ll turn right around and play the New York Knicks tomorrow night.  Then they will have a day off before visiting Milwaukee on Friday and returning home on Saturday against the Raptors.

I’d put my money on Friday or Saturday, but the Bulls will be cautious will these guys because they are two main contributors to the team.  The good news is the Bulls will have Mike James available if they need to use him.

Lost in all this mess is Tony Snell and what he has done on the court.  In the absence of Butler and Deng, Snell has been very productive for coach Thibodeau.  The Bulls will tip-off tonight against the Bucks at 7:00 p.m. CT.
