Chicago Blackhawks vs Winnipeg Jets: start time, TV info and more

Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews returns to his hometown Saturday afternoon for the first time to face the team he loved as a child.

The Hawks are racking up the mileage the next few days with being in Winnipeg on Saturday, flying back to Chicago to play the Calgary Flames before traveling to Washington to be honored by President Obama for their Cup victory.

Each team enters Saturday’s matinee with three days’ rest and one-goal games. The Jets fell to the St. Louis Blues on the road while the Hawks won a thrilling 6-5 barnburner against the Ottawa Senators. A game in which, Toews recorded his third career hat trick.

Season Series: This is the first of four meetings between the new division foes. They meet again on Nov. 6 at the United Center. In the team’s last meeting the Hawks came out on top 4-3 at the United Center.

Injury Report: Hawks defenseman Michael Kostka (lower body) and center Michal Handzus (upper body) are out. Winnipeg defensemen Paul Postma (blood clot) and Jacob Trouba (upper body) and forward Jim Slater (lower body).
