The Chicago Bears have wasted no time in adding a quarterback to their roster.

As of this article, the diagnosis of groin injury to quarterback Jay Cutler is not known. What is known is that Cutler needed to be carted from the stadium to the team bus after the game. Couple that with the fact that the Bears, who do not play again until 15 days from today, already signed a quarterback and that doesn’t bode well for Cutler returning anytime soon.
Palmer was with the Bears during training camp and the pre-season. Palmer was involved in a quarterback competition with Josh McCown for the right to be Cutler’s back-up. Palmer will now presumably serve as McCown’s back-up.
For his career, Palmer has a passer rating of 34.4 to go along with 59 passing yards and two interceptions since entering the league in 2008.
