The Blackhawks drop the puck on the National Hockey League 2013-14 season tonight. Opening night is always a special occasion as last season’s Stanley Cup Champions raise the banner, and this year the 2013 Stanley Cup Banner will be raised to the United Center rafters.

Tonight will mark the second consecutive season the Blackhawks will see the Cup banner raised, last year they opened the season on the road against the 2012 Cup winning Los Angeles Kings.

The Blackhawks will host the Washington Capitals and Alexander Ovechkin tonight. The three-time Hart Memorial Trophy winner, Ovechkin will make his only appearance at the United Center this season due to the new home-and-home scheduling format.

Here is the information you need to know for Opening Night.
