Last week was an unsuccessful week for Da Windy City in our picks against spread. Our picks last week were the Jacksonville Jaguars (+20) against the Seattle Seahawks, Atlanta Falcons (+3) against the Miami Dolphins, and the Indianapolis Colts (+10) against the San Francisco 49ers.
The Jaguars and Falcons failed to cover the spread, while the Colts were our lone winner from last week.
This week is a new week. Da Windy City has reviewed the spreads for this week and believe this will be a bounce back week. Lets make some money.
- Denver Broncos (-12) Against The Philadelphia Eagles-After week 1, much was made of the Eagles quick-paced offense and the wizardry of Chip Kelly. The Eagles have not won a game since, though, their offense is the quickest-paced offense in all of the NFL. That presents a problem for the Eagles in their game against the Denver Broncos. Reason being, when the Eagles are on offense, the team is not necessarily scoring touchdowns and the team is giving the ball back to the opposing offense relatively quickly. Peyton Manning is well on his way to being the league’s MVP this season. Meaning it will not be benefiting the Eagles to be giving the ball back to Manning quickly. Manning should have plenty of opportunities to score points for the Broncos, and consequently, cover the 12-point spread.
- St. Louis Rams (+3) Against The San Francisco 49ers-The 49ers have been one of the league’s surprising teams this season. Surprising in the fact that the 49ers are 1-and-2 after their first three games this season. The 49ers looked impressive against the Green Bay Packers to begin the season, but looked less than stellar in their next two games against the Seattle Seahawks and Indianapolis Colts. The 49ers are now playing on Thursday night football against the Rams. The Rams under head coach Jeff Fisher have played the 49ers well. Expect that trend to continue on Thursday as the Rams should be competitive against the 49ers.
- Kansas City Chiefs (-4.5) Against The New York Giants-Giants’ quarterback Eli Manning has struggled with turnovers this season and his fortunes don’t appear to be improving with the Giants’ next game against the Chiefs. The Chiefs defense has been among the best in the NFL this season and opponents are averaging 185 passing yards per game this season against the Chiefs. Expect the Chiefs to win in convincing fashion against the Giants on Sunday.
