The Chicago Bears will look to improve their record to 2-0 on Sunday when they play the Minnesota Vikings.
On paper, the Bears would seem to have the advantage. The Vikings do have Adrian Peterson, however, the Bears have the advantage at the quarterback position and on defense.
With that said, here are Da Windy City staff predictions for the Bears game against the Vikings on Sunday.
- Brandon Cain: Bears hold Adrian Peterson under 200 yards and win 31-21.
- Dylan: The Bears defense will turn Christian Ponder over 2+ times on their way to a 30-17 victory and a 2-0 start to the season.
- Brandon Bender: The Vikings haven’t won at Soldier Field since 2007, but I will call for an end to that streak this year. Cincinnati had their way against the new Bears defense, but committed costly turnovers of which the Bears took advantage. Aside from his big blast in the first quarter, AP was held mostly in check in Week 1. I expect him to be better and break 100 yards against the Bears. Vikes win, 27-16.
- Jordan: Look no further than the quarterback situation for both teams. There is no question that Jay Cutler is the better of the two quarterbacks in the game on Sunday. Early takeaways by the Bears’ defense last week against the Cincinnati Bengals kept the game in check for the offense to seize control in the second half, expect the same result this week. Vikings’ quarterback Christian Ponder will turn the ball over and that spells success for the Bears. Bears win 34-20.
