Minnesota Vikings vs Chicago Bears: Vikings Primer

The Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings are familiar foes considering the two teams make up half of the NFC North division.

For this reason, the Bears and Vikings should be no strangers to one another. Because of this fact, the rivalry between the Bears and Vikings is one that has been growing in recent seasons.

The Bears play the Vikings on Sunday. Here is all you need to know about the Bears’ foe in this primer on the Vikings.

Head Coach: Leslie Frazier

2013 Record: 0-1, last place in the NFC North Division.

Leading Passer: Christian Ponder, 18-28 passing for a total of 236 yards with 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions

Leading Rusher: Adrian Peterson, 93 yards on 18 carries with 2 touchdowns

Leading Receiver: Jerome Simpson, 140 yards on 7 receptions.

The Vikings are a team that is built around defense and Adrian Peterson. Unfortunately for the Vikings, quarterback Christian Ponder may be what is holding the team back.

The Vikes better test the waters with Cassel because if they continue to count on Ponder, they will continue to get more of the same. That would be too bad for Leslie and the O coordinator.

It reminds me of the Rex Grossman era for the Bears. What Ponder will the Vikings get this week?

Though, one wouldn’t be crazy to ask the same thing about Jay Cutler.
