In proof that the 53-man roster that NFL teams finalize a week before the season opener is not always the same roster that teams have on opening day, the Chicago Bears altered their 53-man roster on Sunday.

Bass was the seventh round pick of the Oakland Raiders in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Bass had an impressive pre-season with the Raiders. During the 2013 NFL Pre-Season, Bass recorded a total of 14 tackles including one sack and one forced fumble.

With the claim of Bass, the Bears now have six defensive ends. One would stand to figure that in the corresponding roster move, the Bears will waive a defensive end.

Dump Cornelius Washington, his future is at defensive tackle if he beefs up not defensive end. Washington does not possess the ideal skill sets to play the end position. Henry Melton went from running back to defensive end to defensive tackle; I see the same move from end to tackle for Washington if he’s going to make it in the NFL.
