Big Ten Battleground: Week 1 Results and Current Standings

For the most part, it as a successful opening weekend for the Big Ten conference. All but two teams came away with victories in their season-opening game.

Week 1 Results 

  • Michigan defeats Central Michigan 59-9
  • Michigan State defeats Western Michigan 26-13
  • Indiana defeats Indiana St. 73-35
  • Minnesota defeats UNLV 51-23
  • Ohio State defeats Buffalo 40-20
  • Wisconsin defeats Massachusetts 45-0
  • Illinois defeats Sourthern Illinois 42-34
  • Cincinnati defeats Purdue 42-7
  • Penn St. defeats Syracuse 23-17
  • Northern Illinois defeats Iowa 30-27
  • Nebraska defeats Wyoming 37-34
  • Northwestern defeats California 44-30

Standings After Week 1

(Legends)

  • Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Northwestern are all tied at the top of the Big Ten-Legends division with a record of 1-0.
  • Iowa is the only team in the division with a record of 0-1.

(Leaders)

  • Illinois, Indiana, Ohio State, Penn State, and Wisconsin are all tied at the top of the Big Ten-Leaders division with a record of 1-0.
  • Purdue is the only team in the division with a record of 0-1.
