NFL Roster Cuts: Chicago Bears Cut 14 Players

In anticipation of the roster cut-down day on Tuesday, the Chicago Bears have begun making cuts from their roster.

By Tuesday, the Bears roster must be cut down from 90 players to 75.

The expectation is that the Bears will make most of their cuts today.

In honor of cut day being on twitter Tuesday, here is the twitter version of the list of players that have been cut to this point.

Moore and Zbikowski were both free agent deals for the Bears in the off-season.

Moore was competing to be backup at the defensive end position though was outplayed by both Cheta Ozougwu and Cornelius Washington. Both Ozougwu and Washington are expected to survive the first wave of cuts for the Bears.

If Zbikowski was going to make the Bears’ roster, the safety would have needed to impress Bears’ special teams coordination Joe DeCamillis. Zbikowski was blocked at the safety position with Anthony Walters and Brandon Hardin as the two primary backups behind starting strong safety Major Wright.

Those cuts were announced Sunday morning.

Sunday afternoon, the Bears announced 11 more cuts.

WR Devin Aromashadu

RB Curtis Brinkley

DT Eric Foster

C P.J. Lonergan

S Derrick Martin

TE Gabe Miller

TE Leonard Pope

LB Patrick Trahan

One more player has to be cut from the Bears roster before Tuesday.
