Chicago Blackhawks, Kyle Beach agree to one-year deal

The Chicago Blackhawks have signed forward Kyle Beach to a one-year contact, the team announced on Wednesday.

Beach, 23, recorded 26 points (16G, 10A) in 66 regular-season games with the Blackhawks’ AHL affiliate Rockford IceHogs. He also led the team with a career-high 204 penalty minutes.

Beach spent three seasons with the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League before being selected in the first round, 11th overall, of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He then spent one more season with Everett and Lethbridge Hurricanes of the WHL before joining the IceHogs.

Since 2009 Beach has played 160 games and recorded 72 points (37G, 35A) for Rockford.
