Handzus, Rozsival re-sign with Chicago Blackhawks


The Chicago Blackhawks re-signed unrestricted free agents center Michal Handzus and defenseman Michal Rozsival on Friday.

Handzus agreed to an one-year deal while Rozsival signed a two-year deal.

Handzus, 36, an NHL journeymen scored a goal and five assists in 11 regular-season games after being acquired on April 1 from San Jose. He was an instrumental part in the playoffs recording three goals and eight assists and suffered a broke wrist.

The 34-year-old Czech national, Rozsival signed a one-year deal with the Hawks last summer after two season with Phoenix. In his first season he added 12 assists and a plus-18 rating in 27 regular-season games. Rozsival was also a solid contributor in the playoffs recording four assists and a plus-9 rating.
