For any general manager the NHL draft day is a big day as they select the future for their perspective organizations but for Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Stan Bowman it became much more
Along with five draft pick selections in the NHL draft, Bowman signed forward Bryan Bickell to a four-year deal.

Bickell, 27, recorded 17 points (9G, 8A) in 23 playoff games including the game-tying goal in Game 6 Monday night en route to his first Stanley Cup victory and the franchise’s fifth. His performance was not just shown during the postseason as he collected 23 points (9G, 14 A) in a 48 game shorten regular-season.
Pressure was put on Bowman this past week to make room for Bickell and others. He was successful in doing just that when he traded Dave Bolland and Michael Frolik for draft picks.
