The Chicago Blackhawks received contributions all season long from several young players including Brandon Saad who was named to the 2012-2013 NHL All-Rookie Team.

Saad, 20, was a finalist for this year’s Calder Memorial Trophy which is given to the NHL’s top rookie.

The other members on the All-Rookie Team include Brendan Gallagher of the Montreal Canadies, goaltender Jake Allen of the St. Louis Blues, defensemen Jonas Brodin of the Minnesota Wild, Justin Schultz of the Edmonton Oilers, and Calder trophy winner Jonathan Huberdeau of the Florida Panthers.

Saad played in 46 games during the 48 game shorten season and recorded a +17 rating leading all rookies. He had 10 goals, 17 assists, and 27 points during the season and added six more points during the 2013 Playoffs including his first playoff goal in Game 1 in the Stanley Cup Final to aid the Hawks in a 4-3 overtime victory.
