Bears sign UFA rookie tackle A.J. Lindeman

The Chicago Bears announced early Friday afternoon via Twitter the signing of undrafted rookie free agent tackle A.J. Lindeman.

Lindeman, a Chicago native from Aurora played for Waubonsie Valley in high school before playing at the University of Toledo. The 6’6″ 300 lbs Lindeman started as a walk-on for the Rockets.

Lindeman redshirted his freshman year in 2008 as current University of Illinois head football coach Tim Beckman began his time at Toledo. The walk-on was awarded a scholarship following the 2010 spring practice and during the 2010 season he appeared in five games for the Rockets as a reserve offensive lineman. With the departure of two senior tackles to graduation Lindeman started at right tackle his senior year.
